Who wrote this page and why

I’m François Altwies. Since 2014 my team has recorded more than 3,500 brain maps in Luxembourg — and yes, I make my living from neurofeedback. That is exactly why this page shows every result: the strong ones, the weak ones and the null ones, each with its study design and a link. Good evidence has nothing to hide, and weak evidence deserves to be seen. A meta-analysis tells you what happened on average in the studies it pooled. Your brain is not an average — that is why we measure first.

Mental wellbeing of adults and at work in Luxembourg

One in three Luxembourg workers is running on empty

36%

More than one employee in three is at moderate or high risk of burnout, up from 16% in 2014.

About this figure

Quality of Work Index 2025 (n = 3,171). The 2024 value is lower because the order of the questionnaire changed that year; CSL advises against comparing with 2024.

About this figure

Two survey years shown. CSL advises against using 2024 for burnout because the questionnaire order changed. High depression risk (15% in 2025) is not drawn: CSL states it more than doubled since 2014 but does not publish the 2014 value as a number.
